Spelling for Summer Term Second Half.
Each group has their allocated spelling. Within the spelling are colour highlighted patterns to assist in finding memorable patterns to assist in their recall. Each block also has a set of considerations at the top of the work.
There is also a dictation whereby either the adult will read out the passages which include some of the spelling words, or sentences need to be created with the word in context.
Your child will listen to the sentences and then attempt to scribe them, this also supports their speaking and listening element and show you their technical skill or pace that needs to be focused on.
The latter element is to ensure a word is learnt in context and not purely remembering a word in isolation.
Group D has the additional task of creating the sentence using the word in the correct context. (Thus a creative element is also utilised and extended).
*Feel free to use a variety of the spelling words in the correct contextual sentence if you would like to extend your child's ability.
Feel free to select your own order as not every child has the same starting point.
