Phonics Homework
As part of your child's continued phonics learning this year, year 2s will be practising their phonics sounds in class 2-3 times a day with your child's class teacher. In particular, year 2s will be expected to sit the phonics screening check towards the end of the next half term to take a look at their current understanding of phonics and reading in KS1. Please continue to practise the phonics sounds at home with the phase 3, 4 or 5 booklets over the half term. In addition, it would be great practise to go through a mock phonics screening check with your child at home.

Guidance for practising the check at home:
Your child is allowed to use their phonics to sound out the letters and blend the word.
Please allow time for your child to read the word independently without adult intervention.
The pass mark for the phonics screening check will be 32/40
Revision
