This week we have continued writing sentences from the passage Charlie and the chocolate factory with a big focus on capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.
Capital letters are a little bit tricky and we have been using our sound mat to help us but a fun matching game would really support us on our recall of capital letters. I wouldn't try all 26 letters unless you feel your child is quite secure but maybe focus on a few each time.
Possible ideas:
A hunt around the room/ garden to find the matching letters.
A game of pairs
Using magnetic letters
A matching game
Joining the letters
Chalking the letters on the ground and squirting the correct letter with a water gun.
The options are endless- no fancy resources needed- paper, pen, possibly chalk and a water gun.
I look forward to seeing the results on class dojo.
Once your child has enjoyed a game of 2- can they sound out a few words but use a capital letter at the beginning when they write it.
