Admissions

Welcome to our School Admissions and New Starters Page

If you are viewing this page it is probably because this will be your child's first experience of school, the beginning of their learning journey and we hope to ensure it is happy and successful one. If you are looking to join our school at another point during the year or to join another year group we hope that your child's transition to our school is a positive one.

We are a first school in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead teaching children from reception to year 4 (aged 4-9 years).

We pride ourselves on our good school and hope you take a few minutes to enjoy our video on the home screen, which shares a tour of the school and celebrates our children and achievements.

Our Early Years Foundation Stage offers a secure, stimulating and happy environment, in which children flourish, through teacher led activities and child led play. Our setting provides an engaging, nurturing and thought-provoking space both inside and outside in which to develop intellectual, emotional and social skills. Children become independent, confident learners, seamlessly transitioning into key stage 1.

Things our children say about King's Court :

“I love we get the chance to read every day! Teachers help me to understand my work.  I like having the different challenges – I enjoying completing bronze and then challenging myself to do silver.  I thank all our teachers as King’s Court for keeping us safe especially while things are all very different.”  Age 9

“I like to learn about things while I get to see all my friends. Our teachers don’t teach us things we already know.  We always learn new things and they make things challenging – I like to challenge myself.”  Age 7

“King’s Court is a place to have fun and enjoy our learning. We are lucky to have a lovely new library and we get to do lots of extra activities like sports and the arts.” Age 8

“My daughter attends Kings Court First School in KS2, having attended since nursery. In recent years, the school has gone from strength-to-strength in terms of curriculum choices and teaching methods.”

Key stage 2 parent

“The school has a really lovely community feel, yet retains an emphasis on treating children as individuals. I have been really impressed by the current teaching and support staff, each of whom seem to consistently go “above and beyond”  in all aspects of the children’s development.    All the staff ensure that the children are happy in school, love learning, and achieve their very best in their academic and social development. My daughter certainly is very content in school which is super important at her age (to develop a love of learning which will stay with her throughout).”

“The schools’ response to Covid-19 has been nothing short of outstanding. As a parent, I had complete faith that the school would make the right decisions that would safeguard my daughters education, safety and wellbeing during this challenging time. This in itself speaks volumes. Thank You  King’s Court First School!”

“We travel to King’s Court First School, Old Windsor, from the west side of Windsor. We mostly commute via car, which takes less than 10 minutes because there are multiple routes through Windsor and via Datchet, even if there is a hold up on a particular road it is easy to avoid using satnav. We haven’t taken the bus yet but that is another option if we’re ever without a car. We have cycled before, on finer days, using the cycle routes, which allow us to safely get from Windsor to Old Windsor and conveniently there are bike racks located within the school grounds.”
