Week 2

Setting Description

 

This week will we start to look at describing the ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ setting and then the story characters.

 

Day 1 - Setting Adjectives Using Our 5 Senses 

First can you describe the setting in the story using your 5 senses? Below are images from the beginning of the story. Use the word mats and your own ideas to have a go at one of the challenges.

 

Challenges

Bronze: What you can see and hear.

Silver: What you can see, hear, smell and touch.

Gold: What you can see, hear, smell, touch and taste.

 

Record adjectives to describe each of the senses in your challenge on the 5 senses sheets below. 

Day 2-3 - Setting Description 

Now you have a range of adjectives to describe what you can see, hear, smell touch and taste can you create some sentences to describe the whole setting.

 

Have a go at one of the SPaG activities to help support levelling up your sentences.
