This week the children have continued to focus on performance poetry in their classes. 

For this week's homework, we would like the children to choose one of the challenges below. 

BRONZE - To listen out for and identify rhyming words within a story. 

An example of this is  'Room on a Broom'  Adults to take a photo of the book to upload to ClassDojo.

SILVER - To listen out for and identify rhyming words within a story. Children can then right down the rhyming words that they have heard on a piece of paper and then take a photo to upload to ClassDojo.

An example of this is 'Snail and the Whale' where children may identify the words snail, whale, tail and pale.

GOLD - To listen out for any rhyming couplets in stories that they can read independently. Children to then write these down on a piece of papers and then take a photo to upload to ClassDojo.

An example of this is 

'Then out of the bushes on thundering paws,

there bounded a dog with a hat in his jaws'

A helpful hint or top tip is that Julia Donaldson books have some great examples.
