Hands on Pottery
As part of our local area, Hands On Art Adventures are offering the chance to make your own Christmas decoration! This is a fabulous way to raise some money for the school as well as promoting local businesses in these unexpected times. If you would like to do this, your child has been given an order form where you can choose which gift you would like. Please bring the order form and money in a named envelope and give to your teacher by Tuesday 17th November.
Your gift will be delivered as a kit and they will be painting them on Wednesday 25th November. They will be collected and fired before coming back to school to take home.

These include looking at World Teacher Day, Mental Health Day and Walk to School Day. We will be looking at these as part of our PSHE.
A new part of the website has been produced to show our events and charities that we have contributed to. This can be found at the top of whole school updates.

MacMillan Coffee Morning is on the 25th September. In the current environment we have decided not to hold a coffee morning but Mrs Pye Beraet and Miss Fancy will have their buckets ready on the gate again if you want to make a donation. To raise awareness for this charity, we are asking children to bring in a cake as part of their packed lunch or as a snack on Friday 25th September.

Miss Mears will then talk to your teachers and share the fabulous work you have done. At the end of each half term, Miss Mears will choose a piece of work from each Key Stage that impressed her and that will be shown to the whole school.

Jeans for Genes
On 18th September we will be raising money for Jeans for Genes. This is a fabulous charity that researches into genetic disorders. Mrs Pye-Beraet and Miss Fancy will be standing on the gates as you come into school in the morning and if you would like to wear jeans, please bring £1 and place it in their buckets. We will have hand sanitizer in the classrooms if the children would like to clean their hands after. Please can we remind you that the children will be doing PE so will come to school in the normal top and shoes for outdoors. The Jeans for Genes charity are working with Bugs Bunny this year! In class we are designing Bugs Bunny's jeans to enter a competition that they are providing. If you would like to enter your child's design we will be sending them home on Friday. Send your entry to email@example.com. The deadline for this is 5th October.
MacMillan Coffee Morning
An update will be posted on this page by Friday about MacMillan Coffee Morning. Regrettably, because of government guidelines we are unable to bring in cakes. However we will be raising money in other ways.
The charities we normally raise money for this term are going to be looked at carefully to see if they can go ahead but most of them will be postponed until after half term. We will keep you informed of this. Thank you for your understanding. We are looking forward to our Community Week which is starting on the 5th October.

3rd September 2020- A message for our key stage 1 parents.
Firstly, we would like to thank you for being so patient at both pick up and drop off times in key stage 1. We are aware that the queue takes time for us to dismiss the children safely to you so we have reviewed this system to make it more efficient.
Tomorrow morning please queue in your child’s class line. This will be clearly labelled with Hedgehog, Squirrel, Otter in the same key stage 1 car park area. Please see the diagram below.
Please let us know how we are doing as your feedback is so valuable to us.
See you in the morning at 8.55.
“Never give up because great things take time”
3rd September 2020 - A Huge Thank You!
A huge thank you to all our parents for arriving at the gate for your key stage drop off time slot. This has meant drop off today worked perfectly with no queues. At this time, we are getting used to many new systems and routines and we are improving them every single day. We will continue to review and improve our routines together to keep us as safe as possible.
Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you at home time. Please arrive at the gate for your pick up slot time.

School Uniform & PE Kit - Children are returning to school wearing school uniform. The only exception to this is that they should come to school in PE kit on their PE days. This will mean children will need 2 sets of PE kit a week – we are happy in these circumstances, if the second kit is not the normal King’s Court PE kit. Class teachers will inform you of your child’s PE days which will commence the week beginning 7th September 2020.
Water Bottles- Children can now have their own water bottle in school which will remain at their own desk. We ask for this to be clearly labelled with your child’s name.
Book Bags- Children need to bring their book bags into school on a Friday, so their reading books can be changed by the class teacher and will be sent home on a Monday to remain at home for the week.
Coats - School coats are also allowed in to school as the weather becomes cooler.
Snacks – From Monday 7th September our fruit deliveries will re- commence for the Early Years and Key Stage 1 children from the Government Fruit and Vegetable scheme. Therefore, you do not need to send your child to school with a snack as this is provided. Key Stage 2 please only send your child to school with a piece of fruit or a healthy snack.
Class Dojo – You will hopefully have received a message from your new class dojo page. These will all be set up by Friday. All class messages will be shared on Class Dojo.
School Website- We will continue to use the website as our home/school communication. We will update the Whole School -learning updates page regularly with the latest news and reminders. Our Newsletters will continue to be uploaded on to the website under the ‘Parents tab’ - ‘Newsletters.’ There is also a key stage and a class page for you to remain updated throughout the year.
Social Media – We will also use our Facebook and Instagram accounts to share important messages.
School Dinners- Our school kitchen is now fully open, please book your child’s lunch options online for the rest of the week. (Quick links) Due to a slight technical issue can we ask everyone to select their orders again for the rest of the week, you will see the hot dinner options.
