Maths
Our Early Years maths curriculum is designed to inspire a love of learning through practical, hands-on experiences. Children can develop their mathematical understanding by exploring, investigating and problem-solving through engaging activities that are meaningful and engaging.
We follow the White Rose maths scheme, which includes a range of mathematical stories, games, activities and indoor/outdoor learning provision ideas. Children learn key concepts such as counting, number recognition, patterns, shape, measure and comparison.
Children also have access to the maths area through provision to use the resources and explore these concepts independently. We enhance provision through different tuff tray setups weekly which the children can access and explore when they choose, encouraging them to apply their learning. Through active exploration and discussion, children are challenged to extend their learning further and apply it to real-life contexts.
