Week beginning 8.2.21
There was chaos at St Christopher's School on Saturday, due to a mistake in the school office. Early in the morning chrysanthemum growers put up tables in the hall in order to display their flowers. The judge was due to arrive at eleven o'clock to select the best blooms and award prizes. However, at a quarter to eleven, the school orchestra and choir arrived for a practice. Instruments, music stands and chairs were placed between the tables of chrysanthemums. Neither the school music master, nor the show organiser, could work out another scheme. It was chaotic. As the flower judge arrived, the orchestra struck up its first chord.
