In today's lesson, we are starting to think about money and measurement. We are going to start by counting pence. Ask your child some simple questions such as 'How many pence are in one pound?' 'What would the value be if I had 101 pence?' Another helpful starter would be to use some real coins if you have them and ask your child to count their overall value. When doing this, ensure your child is counting in 2s, 5s, 10s, 20s or 50s when pointing to each one, depending on which coins you have available and their values.
