Friday 11th September

Cross curricular report of our local rural community.

As we live in the picturesque community of Windsor and in conjunction with our theme work. Our mission this week is an investigative one. Please create a report of the different types of farms in our rural community. If you get a chance, perhaps find the name of the farm and get a picture of you by it. Even better if you can get to interview a farmer about what they do.

Ideas to help you create your report.

Take photos of you by each farm you find.

How many working farms can you find in our rural community?

Clue (There are several around and in the Great Park)

What are their working farm types? (what they do)

For example:

  • Arable FarmingArable farming involves growing of crops only in warm climate. ...
  • Pastoral Farming. ...
  • Mixed Farming. ...
  • Subsistence Farming. ...
  • Commercial Farming. ...
  • Extensive and Intensive Farming. ...
  • Nomadic Farming. ...
  • Sedentary Farming.

What is a normal farmers day? What do they do?

Are all farms the same?

Can you describe compare and contrast the farms that you find?

Good luck and happy exploring.
