This week in maths we have been looking at equal groups and adding equal groups together. This is the initial process of being able to multiply successfully. When we add equal groups together we are adding the same number several times. This is called repeated addition.
For example, if I have 3 equal groups with 5 in each group, the number sentence would be:
5 + 5 + 5 = 15
This is the same as 3 x 5 = 15
Below are some challenges to re-enforce their learning of these concepts. Please allow the children to choose one challenge based on their understanding and thinking about the challenge they have chosen in maths this week.
